European Master and Certification Program
in Risk Engineering and Management

In the framework of the EU FP7 project iNTeg-Risk "Early Recognition, Monitoring and Integrated Management of Emerging, New Technology related Risks", Steinbeis University (STI Advanced Risk Technologies) and other project partners have set up a modern and modular European Master and Certification Program with the emphasis on management and analysis of emerging risks related to new technologies. Herewith, we announce the forthcoming course

VF-R40 KPI
Concepts and Applications of Key Performance Indicators for New Technologies

June 25 - 26, 2013
Sasa's office, HdW, Stuttgart

The course is open for students of the universities and employees of the companies participating in the project, as well as for the external participants.

The course addresses the issue of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) as used in the safety and risk assessment, in particular for assessing and managing emerging risks linked to New Technologies. Main concepts developed by organizations like OECD, API, HSE/HSL, CCPS or VCI are presented in detail. Application of these and other concepts, as well as the corresponding guidelines, are discussed in the second part of the course, where also the practical aspects of these applications, including tools and practical views from industry on the use of indicators are presented and discussed.

Main expected benefits for the participants are:

  • Introduction to the KPI concepts, by their developers
  • Presentation of examples of application (both within and outside the iNTeg-Risk project)
  • Exchange of experiences in using KPIs both within iNTeg-Risk and in other projects/activities

Expected participants to this course are (plant) engineers, managers and risk experts.
